Located in the heart of trendy Coconut Grove, this open-air multi-level "shoppertainment" complex is a sophisticated and festive melting pot of international music, eateries, and stores.
A pioneer in perfecting the urban entertainment concept, CocoWalk is an international prototype for the shopping center of the future. Extensive resources were put into this location in the center of the village to make it comfortable for local residents. Tourists naturally followed. Open seven days a week, visitors will find nearly 40 brand-name and independent shops, including Victoria's Secret, Blockbuster Music, Banana Republic, and The Cheesecake Factory. If you like white clothes, stop at the White House; if you dress in black, drop by the Black Market. Ground-level kiosks bulge with beads, incense, herbs, and cigars. Upstairs are the restaurants and nightspots, which stay hopping until 2:00 a.m. The spacious and welcoming brick-paved courtyard plays host to live music every night and on weekends. There is always something to hold your attention. Bands and musicians perform inside the nightclubs and in the courtyard. Artists, musicians, sports stars, and visiting celebrities stroll through the beautiful terraces, which are highlighted with Victorian-style lamps.
Outdoor cafes grace every level, inviting guests to enjoy the tropical sea breezes. Second-floor Tu Tu Tango, an indoor/outdoor restaurant and bar, resembles a starving artist's studio in Spain. Blank canvases hang from the ceiling and original paintings dot the walls. Local artists paint at their easels in the middle of the mayhem.
CocoWalk works closely with the community, including a nearby elementary school. School kids are hosted at various events throughout the year and were invited to paint a barrier wall that was built during contraction of a new parking garage.
The elegant pink and beige mall off Grand Avenue houses an AMC cinemaplex, an Automated Teller Machine, and features covered parking.
